Serena walked into the bar at the Palace. She grimaced at the thought of ever going to Hanover, ever, ever again. She had gotten in, and come directly home, wait, no, not home. To The Palace.
Her mother had wanted to re-decorate their home, so they were all, well, just her and Herr mother, staying at The Palace. She sighed and sat down. Her whole life came down on her at the moment. Her little brother was in the Ostroff center, she got kicked out of Hanover for not being back for the start of the semester, and Blair was being a complete stranger. Not to mention her little secret. The secret that involves Nate, a wedding, and something not too wholesome.
She ordered one of the first drinks she saw on the menu. A Martini. Great. The bartender, a young man with dark hair, and even darker eyes. His smile was sexy and alluring. She smiled, taking the drink and downing it.
"Another?" She said, her voice, a Smokey kind of pitch. It was often described as a whiskey voice. His smile spread as he poured her another drink.
She took this one a little more slowly, and turned away from the bartender, scanning the crowd for anyone she knew. Her whole world was about her friends before she left. But now they all seemed like they were gone. Blair was being...Blair. Chuck? He was hardly a friend in the first place. Nate was Blair's Boyfriend, plus, she had to stay away from him. She was not going to replay their little scene at the wedding.
She zoned in on a face making its way through the crowd. They looked vaguely familiar. She waited until they got closer, so she could decide if she knew them or not. But someone closed in on her from the other side before this person came close to her. word count: 315Outfit: The Palace BarTags: Open

Charles Bartholomew Bass walked into the bar of the Palace. He was bored, and in need of entertainment. He had thought about heading to Victrola, but decided against it. Upon entering he noticed a certain leggy blonde that had been the subject of Gossip Girl's recent posts. Serena van der Woodsen. Came home from a year at boarding school. He noticed the other night at Blair's party that Blair didn't seem at all thrilled for Serena to be back. Chuck was hoping that there'd be a cat fight or something between the two. He chuckled to himself. Something was different about Serena, even he could see that. She seemed nervous, and tamed. Tamed? And Serena? That really did not go together. Luckily for him, she wasn't paying attention to him, as he walked over to her. He noticed her gaze was turned on someone in the crowd. He slid next to her and leaned against the bar, and smirked at her. "Hey S. Long time no see." He said, with a hint of seduction in his voice.

Startled, Serena swirled around, spilling her drink slightly. The bartender quickly fixed the spill.
"Hey S. Long time no see." Chuck. Charles Bass was sitting against the counter right next to her. His words were tinged with seduction, that fell flat on her ears.
She rolled her eyes.
"Chuck, so nice to see you" She said, slight sarcasm to her voice. She was slightly glad to see chuck, it was someone from her old life. It would have been better if it was, say, Nate, but that was really impossible, so she would take what she had. She didnt know why, but Blair had been so upset about her returning, and she knew that she should have called Blair before she came back, letting her know, but she just, she, she didnt know. Blair had found out through another source. And by the look on Blair's face, Serena knew she was upset about it.
